Frequently asked questions

Lens Care

How often should I clean my contact lenses?

If you're using Clear 1-Day, then you can simply discard after each use.

It's best to clean your monthly lenses (Clear All-Day, Clear 55s, 58, 38, and Clear All-Day Toric) when you remove them at the end of the day.

Regular cleaning helps remove any debris, bacteria, or protein deposits that might accumulate, ensuring your eyes stay comfortable and healthy. Think of it as giving your lenses a little spa treatment—they'll feel refreshed, and so will your eyes!

What solution should I use to clean my contact lenses?

Always use a proper lens solution—never tap water or homemade mixes—to keep your eyes healthy and your lenses fresh.

A great option is Eyedia Multipurpose Solution , which cleans, disinfects, and keeps your lenses hydrated for all-day comfort. It removes protein buildup, kills bacteria, and helps maintain clear vision.

Can I reuse contact lens solution?

It's important to use fresh solution every time you store your lenses. Reusing or "topping off" old solution can lead to contamination, as used solution may harbor bacteria and debris from previous use.

While it might seem economical to reuse solution, your eye health is worth the small investment in fresh solution each time. Think of it as giving your lenses a clean bed to rest in overnight—they'll be ready to provide clear and comfortable vision the next day!

How long can I wear my contact lenses in a day?

Most people can comfortably wear their contact lenses for about 12 to 14 hours a day, but everyone’s eyes are different. If your eyes start feeling dry or tired, it’s a good idea to take a break and remove your lenses.

And remember, never sleep in your contact lenses. Sleeping in lenses can reduce oxygen flow to your eyes, increasing the risk of irritation or infection. Listening to your eyes' signals helps keep them healthy and comfortable!

What should I do if my contacts feel blurry?

Blurriness with contact lenses can result from several factors, such as prolonged wear, debris buildup, an incorrect prescription, or even wearing the lenses inside out.

If you experience blurriness, try removing the lenses, giving them a thorough cleaning, and ensuring they're correctly oriented before reinserting them.

Eye safety

Can I shower or swim with my contacts in?

It's recommended to remove your contact lenses before showering or swimming. Water can introduce harmful bacteria and microorganisms to your lenses, increasing the risk of eye infections.

If you need vision correction while swimming, consider using prescription goggles or discussing daily disposable lenses with your eye care professional, which can be discarded immediately after swimming.

What happens if I put my contact lenses in backward?

Inserting a contact lens inside out can cause discomfort and may affect vision clarity.

To check if a lens is correctly oriented, place it on your fingertip and observe its shape. A properly oriented lens has a smooth, bowl-like shape, while an inside-out lens may appear flared at the edges.

If you suspect a lens is inside out, gently flip it before insertion to ensure optimal comfort and vision.

Can I wear makeup with contact lenses?

Absolutely! Wearing makeup with our contact lenses is perfectly fine.

We recommend inserting your lenses before applying makeup to prevent any particles from getting on the lenses. At the end of the day, remove your lenses before taking off your makeup to maintain eye health and lens cleanliness.

What should I do if my contact lens gets stuck in my eye?

Though rare, if a contact lens becomes stuck, remain calm.

Avoid rubbing your eye, as this can cause irritation. Instead, apply sterile saline solution or rewetting drops to lubricate the eye, then gently massage your eyelid to help dislodge the lens.

If you're unable to remove the lens or experience discomfort, seek assistance from an eye care professional as soon as possible.

Can Clearlab lenses melt in my eyes or harm them in any way?

Our lenses are designed to withstand everyday conditions and will never melt in your eyes. In fact, they can only melt at temperatures far beyond boiling point—much hotter than anything your eyes would ever experience.

Clearlab lenses are crafted from high-quality materials for safe, comfortable wear. If you experience discomfort, it’s often due to dryness or an improper fit—a quick visit to your eye care professional can help ensure the perfect fit for healthy, happy eyes!

Product advice

How do I open the Clear 1-Day packaging?

We use a unique, eco-friendly Clear 1-Day packaging that reduces plastic by over 80%! It may feel a little different at first, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it. Here’s how to open it:

  1. Flip the lens container upside down so the blue cover is facing down.
  2. Gently fold the blue cover between the two containers while holding the bottom one by the sides.
  3. Hold the top container and peel it toward the outer corner.

And that’s it! With a little practice, opening your lenses will feel effortless.

What type of lens is the right one for me?

Finding the perfect Clearlab lenses is easy! First, decide if you’d like clear or colored lenses—we offer prescription options for our colored lenses if you want a fun pop of color for your everyday wear.

Next, choose between daily or monthly lenses. Daily lenses are perfect if you want a hassle-free experience—just wear them once and toss them. Plus, we offer packs of 10 to 30 pieces, so you won’t have to restock as often.

Monthly lenses require a little more care since you’ll need to clean them before and after each wear, but they’re great if you prefer using the same pair for a month. It all comes down to what fits your lifestyle best!

What do the numbers mean on Clearlab monthly lenses?

We’ve named each type of Clearlab lens based on its water content! For example, Clear55 has 55% water content, while Clear38 has 38%.

A simple way to choose the right one for you is to think of it like this: higher water content offers more moisture and comfort but for a shorter duration, while lower water content provides steady comfort for longer hours. It’s all about finding the perfect balance for your eyes!

Do Clearlab lenses have an expiry date?

Yes, all Clearlab lenses have an expiry date! For both clear and colored lenses, you’ll find the date clearly labeled on the right side of the box for daily lenses (Clear 1-Day and ClearColor 1-Day) and on the bottom of the box for monthly lenses (Clear All-Day, Clear 55s, 58, 38, Clear All-Day Toric, and ClearColor).

Be sure to discard any lenses past their expiration date to keep your eyes safe and comfortable.

Are Clearlab lenses hypoallergenic?

Yes! Clearlab lenses are made with hypoallergenic, allergy-free materials to ensure safe and comfortable wear for all users, even those with sensitive eyes.

Our lenses are designed to minimize irritation by using high-quality, biocompatible materials that keep your eyes feeling fresh throughout the day. Plus, with advanced hydration technology, they help maintain moisture and reduce dryness, making them a great choice for all-day comfort.

How does Clearlab keep my eyes safe?

When you choose Clearlab, you're choosing trusted quality and innovation. We take eye safety seriously, with an outstanding record of less than one complaint per 1 million lenses sold in Europe.

Our Clear 1-Day lenses feature AQUAGRIP™ technology, which enhances moisture retention and ensures superior dimensional stability. This means your lenses maintain their shape and stay comfortable, even with extended wear—so you can enjoy clear, comfortable vision all day long.
